Practice Nurses

Susan Dale Sunley and Pat Coupland work in the Health Centre treatment room. They provide all nursing care such as dressings, injections and blood tests and are also responsible for a wide variety of health promotion activities and chronic disease management.

Community Nurses

We have a team of Community/District Nurses providing nursing care in the home. We organise nursing care for the patient and provide support and advice for their carer/families. The nursing team has access to many other professionals ensuring the best possible care in the home. Our team are always happy to give advice so don't feel alone, give us a call. Nursing help is availalbe on-call 24 hours - evening cover through NHS 24.

Health Visitor

Mrs Gail R Bell is the Health Visitor and is available to give advice to parents of young children on all aspects of parenting eg feeding, behaviour, safety. She will also advise other age groups on healthy lifestyles and what services are available locally to meet their needs.

Community Midwife

The Midwife based at Thornhill Health Centre is one of four Upper Nithsdale Red-Team Midwives. We aim to give 24-hour care to pregnant women during their antenatal period, during their labour and post-natally until care is taken over by the Health Visitor.
